At St Mary’s, St Peter’s and Christ Church, we welcome all gifts in wills, however large or small, and we promise to use your gifts to make a difference in our Parish of Staines. Our Church Council’s legacy policy is to use gifts to help fund significant development or improvement projects, whether of buildings, equipment or people.
Since needs change over time, we encourage you to leave a gift in your will for the general purposes of the parish rather than for a restricted purpose. We will discuss possible uses of your gift with your executors when the time comes, bearing in mind your known areas of interest in the parish (e.g. music, buildings, youth work, overseas mission and which of our churches you habitually attend) and the parish’s priorities at the time. We also encourage you to leave your gift as a share of your estate, rather than a fixed amount, so that the gift always reflects your original intentions.
You can be confident that your gift will be used to make a very real difference to our future mission and ministry. We won’t spend it on day-to-day expenses.
We will acknowledge gifts in whatever way you and/or your executors agree with the Church is most appropriate. Equally, we will not publicise the gift if you prefer.
If you would like to make a gift to our parish in memory of a loved one, please do come and discuss this with us. It can be a wonderful and appropriate way to remember them.
There are information booklets on display in each church and more information is available online on the Church Legacies website.
