St. Alban is venerated as the first recorded British martyr saint. Every year in the city named after him a special day is kept in his memory. This year this feast takes place on:
Saturday 24th June 2017
The Pilgrimage Procession begins at 11am, setting off from St Peter’s Church (St. Albans not Staines) and arriving at the West End of the Cathedral in time for Festival Eucharist at 12noon. This year’s preacher is The Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester.
The day concludes with Festival Evensong at 4pm. This year’s Preacher is the Very Revd Martyn Percy, Dean of Oxford.
Travel by Train from Staines Station. Leaving at 8:29am, return by 18:52, cost £16.20 (excluding any discounts / railcards etc)
