Our giving sustains our church buildings here – they are sacred places dedicated to worship, prayer and witness.
Our giving sustains our parish clergy here and across the diocese and trains new clergy.
Our giving sustains parish ministry; measured by every ill person visited, every confirmation course run, every assembly taken, every bereaved family comforted, every baptism celebrated, every sermon preached, every Eucharist celebrated, and every person shown the love of Christ through our care, comfort and compassion.
Our giving sustains mission both here in this diocese of London, and overseas for people we will never meet but to whom we are able to give practical support through our ministry of giving.
The Parish needs between £5,000 and £6,000 each week for its ministry of worship, witness, service & mission, and the maintenance of its buildings. We do not normally receive any funds from the central church authorities and to further our giving, we need to think carefully about all we receive from God, consider our priorities and then prayerfully decide on our giving.
As a first step we are encouraged to consider giving to the church 5% of our income after deductions for rent or mortgage, or to work towards that figure. As regular planned givers we should review how much we give at least every year and when our circumstances change. Can we increase our giving through the Gift Aid scheme or through Give As You Earn?
Thank you for considering your giving options. If you would like to discuss anything further, in confidence, please contact the Parish Office.
